As an internet service provider and operator of our own Autonomous System Number, AS34979, 39D works with the RIPE NCC to support the responsible management of the internet resources that underpin our network infrastructure.
Our relationship with the RIPE NCC reflects our commitment to operating a resilient, well managed network that our customers and partners can rely on.
The RIPE NCC is the Regional Internet Registry responsible for coordinating internet number resources across Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia.
It allocates and manages public IP address space and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) for network operators throughout the region. It also maintains the RIPE Database, an important public resource that enables network operators to identify networks, validate routing information and contact the appropriate organisation when technical or security issues arise.
Although most internet users never see these services, they play an essential role in keeping the internet organised and connected.
Reliable internet connectivity depends on more than cables and routers. Networks around the world need accurate information about who owns IP address space, who operates each Autonomous System and how those networks should communicate with one another.
Maintaining accurate registration data helps improve coordination between providers, supports routing security and allows operators to respond quickly when faults or security incidents occur.
For 39D, our RIPE NCC membership helps ensure our network information, address space and routing records remain accurate, transparent and up to date.
